The Faculty of Technology and Vocational Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (FPTK UPI) held a Corner Merah Bata 1.0 Community Service Webinar. The event was held virtually through the Zoom Meeting application and was attended by around 130 participants on Monday (26/10/20).
The event was officially opened by the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs, FPTK UPI, Dr. Ana, S.Pd., M.Pd. She expressed her hope that through the implementation of this webinar it could increase the enthusiasm of students to collaborate in the preparation of community service quality.
The event was continued with remarks from the Chairperson of the BPO KM FPTK UPI 2019-2020 and the founder of Corner Merah Bata Muhamad Sampurna, S.Pd.
The first Corner Merah community service webinar was supported by three resource speakers who have experiences in community service writing, namely Muhamad Rafi Anggara, S.Pd. a 2016 graduate of S1 Electrical Engineering Education who is a 2019 UPI Outstanding Student and has received community service grants three times, Rizki Mochamad Fauzi, a 2016 batch of S1 Electrical Engineering student who became a finalist at PIMNAS 2019, and Muhamad Arlie Arlando, S.Pd, a graduate of S1 Engineering Education Machine Generation 2016 who was a finalist at PIMNAS 2019, and was guided by Salsabil Muthmainnah as the host.
The presentation session was guided by moderator Sarah Istiqomah Widiaputri, who is UPI 2020 Student Achievement and as a 2020 National Achievement Student Finalist. Presentations by the speakers were divided into three main topics, namely the PKM Development Activity Process at FPTK by Muhamad Rafi Anggara, S.Pd., PKM Creative Idea Development by Rizki Mochamad Fauzi, and the PKM Team Building Process by Muhammad Arlie Arlando, S.Pd.
The speakers said that in the PKM preparation, the most important thing was knowing and obeying the rules of the guidelines, creative, innovative, and productive ideas. By participating in PKM writing, students could participate in improving academic knowledge, thinking skills, management skills, and communication skills. PKM preparation can be done using ATM techniques, namely Observe, Imitate, and Modify by ensuring that the selected title is following the PKM field.
This Student Creativity Program is not individual, but it requires collaboration between individuals in a great team. In building a PKM team, students must understand the field of science, the goals of each individual, and their characteristics and competencies. The most important thing is that each individual in the team has a strong desire to develop themselves, be consistent, and be responsible. This is necessary to maintain the smooth running of the PKM program from writing, presentation, monitoring, and evaluation activities.
The presentation session by the three speakers lasted one hour and was followed by a question and answer session with the participants for 20 minutes. Participants actively participated by asking questions related to PKM funding techniques, writing proposals to selecting interesting and creative titles. The discussion session went on enthusiastically and the webinar ended with a closing ceremony by the presenter. (UPI FPTK Student Affairs Team).
