The Family Welfare Program of Study Community Service Team Gave Training on Various Culinary Processed Catfish
The Community Service Team of the Department of Family Welfare Education, Faculty of Technology and Vocational Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (DPKK FPTK UPI) provides training to Farmer Group Families in Rancaekek Subdistrict, Cemaran Industri Region, in Sukamanah Village, Rancaekek District, Industrial Contamination Area on a culinary variety of catfish ( 17/10/20). Activities carried out by implementing health protocols, starting from measuring body temperature, washing hands, and distributing masks. The number of program participants is limited.
The UPI FPTK DPKK Community Service Team consisting of the Chairperson, namely Dr. Yoyoh Jubaedah, M.Pd .; members namely Dra. Elly Lasmanawati, M.Sc., Dra. Neni Rohaeni, M.Pd. and Nenden Rani Rinekasari, S.P., M.Pd .; as well as experts namely Asep Maosul, S.Pd., M.Pd .; and Shofa Fithriturrohmi Yusuf S.Pd. This community service program through partnership-based Assisted Villages is one of the empowerment of women for women farmer groups who can use their spare time to increase productivity to achieve and increase family resilience.
In his speech, the team leader, Dr. Yoyoh Jubaedah, M.Pd revealed that community service activities aim to improve the welfare of farmer group families in Sukamanah village through training in making various catfish culinary delights. You can make many products using catfish such as dumplings, meatball, tofu meatball, and catfish dumplings.
"The training for catfish dumplings is expected to increase the knowledge and skills of PKK cadres in Sukamanah Village. Hopefully, it can be used as a business pilot product that will have an impact on increasing family income and achieving family welfare, "concluded Dr. Yoyoh.
On the same occasion, the team for the empowerment of family welfare in Sukamanah Village, Rancaekek welcomed the PKM team intention because women farmer groups as housewives have free time and need to improve knowledge and skills to help their families income through programmed and sustainable activities.
The training given to the participants this time was the processing of catfish into dumplings. A brief explanation was given by Dra. Elly Lasmanawati, M.Si about the process of making catfish dumplings. After that, the participants immediately started producing catfish dumplings starting from the process of filing catfish, smoothing catfish meat while mixing with spices, moulding dumplings, to steaming and serving catfish dumplings.
To facilitate the delivery of material, the PKM Team has made a tutorial video for making this culinary delicacy and shared through WhatsApp. This video tutorial is very helpful for participants in making culinary productions outside of their dedication time.
